Safety & Security Guidelines – Mount Mahabharat Homestay & Retreat – Bethanchowk, Nepal

  1. A government-issued ID card is required for Nepali guests, either individually or at least one person in the group.
  2. “Leave only footprints; take only pictures.”
  3. Foreign tourists must provide a copy of their passport along with a valid Nepal visa.
  4. Respect nature and help preserve the environment.
  5. Guests are responsible for protecting their valuables.
  6. Please ensure that you inform your family members or parents about your trekking, camping, or homestay plans in Bethanchowk.
  7. The farm management will not be held liable for incidents caused by natural disasters or unforeseen natural events.
  8. The Bethanchowk Mahabharat Hiking/Trekking/Camping program does not include insurance coverage. Participants are personally responsible for any accidents or injuries.
  9. The use or possession of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited.
  10. Participants will be personally responsible for any activities carried out outside the directions or guidance provided by the farm management.
  11. The concerned individual(s) must compensate for any damage caused by undesirable or irresponsible activities.
  12. Lighting fires at random or unauthorized locations is strictly prohibited.
  13. Cutting green trees or damaging saplings is not allowed.
  14. Garbage, except biodegradable organic waste, must not be thrown or left behind.
  15. It is prohibited to go trekking in difficult Mahabharata regions or to engage in rock climbing, whether alone or in a group, without reliable guidance or information from local guides or residents.
  16. Mobile networks do not work in most areas along the Bethanchok trekking route. Before starting the trek, ensure that you obtain accurate route information and avoid traveling at night as much as possible.
  17. The mountains in the Bethanchok area are rocky, and there are many large cliffs along the trail. Please walk carefully and exercise caution during the trek.
  18. First-time visitors may not be aware that trekking in the Bethanchok area involves ascending from around 1,900 meters to nearly 3,000 meters above sea level. Hiking at high altitudes can be physically demanding, so visitors are advised to come well prepared and plan the trek in advance.

I/We hereby agree to comply with all the terms and conditions adopted by Mount Mahabharat Homestay & Retreat / Gajaram Parbat Camping, Bethanchowk, regarding trekking, camping, and hiking activities for the purpose of safety and environmental protection.

We are stay only 4 days but we had a nice stay with this cute family. The grandma and Gauma are really attentive to us and they cooked really good food. Kamal was really helpfull and answered to our trip question. It’s was a pleasure to stay with a Nepalese family in this beautiful setting. The 2 boys are really cute and funny we enjoy to play with them.
